Friday preview: US producer prices, bank earnings in focus
(Sharecast News) - Financial markets' focus at the end of the week would continue to be on the inflation picture in the States. At 1330 GMT the Department of Commerce was scheduled to release producer price data for the month of December.
Also of key importance, overnight China's National Bureau of Statistics would publish reports for consumer prices and foreign trade covering the month of December.
On home shores, at 0700 GMT the Office for National Statistics was expected to announce 0.2% month-on-month growth in gross domestic product during November following a 0.3% drop reported for October.
On the corporate side of things, the U.S. corporate quarterly earnings announcements season was set kick off with results due out from a trio of U.S. banking heavyweights.
They would include those of Citigroup, J.P.Morgan Chase, and Wells Fargo.
In the case of J.P.Morgan, the country's largest lender by market value, its quarterly revenues were seen rising to $40.12bn for a full-year tally of $162.33bn.
Earnings per share meanwhile were seen printing at $3.63 for the quarter.
