Week ahead: US CPI and Q3 earnings, China CPI in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus over the coming week will shift towards prices, with readings for consumer price inflation in the U.S. and China due out.

The former will be released on Wednesday and the latter on Friday.

Also due out at the end of the week is a report on producer price inflation in the States.

That will come alongside the preliminary results of the University of Michigan's consumer confidence survey for October.

Also of importance will be the minutes of the U.S. central bank's last policy meeting, which are due out on Wednesday.

In China meanwhile, new loan and money supply growth figures are scheduled for release on Tuesday.

Across the Channel, Monday will bring with it figures for German industrial production in August.

CPI readings for Germany, France and Spain will be published on Wednesday, in the case of the former, and on Friday for the latter two.

On home shores, UK gross domestic product data for August will be forthcoming on Thursday.

The U.S: corporate earnings is also set to start, on Friday, with quarterly numbers due out from banking heavyweights Citi, J.P.Morgan and Wells Fargo.
