Week ahead: US and euro area inflation data, Chinese manufacturing in focus

(Sharecast News) - The end of the month will see the market spotlight shift towards inflation data due out on either side of the Atlantic.

In particular, Thursday will see the Department of Commerce release readings for the personal consumption expenditures price deflator - the Fed's preferred inflation gauge - for the month of October.

Earlier during the same session, Eurostat will publish preliminary consumer price data for the euro area covering that same month.

Potentially key as well to the week's outcomes in financial markets may be the results of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries' ministerial meeting, also on Thursday.

A raft of U.S. Treasury debt auction results on Monday and Tuesday may also bear watching.

In Asia meanwhile, Wednesday will see rate-setters in New Zealand announce their latest policy decision.

And on Friday, survey compiler Caixin will release the results of its closely followed factory sector Purchasing Managers' Index for November.

On home shores, on Wednesday the Bank of England will release M4 money supply and mortgage lending data for October.
