Week ahead: Global PMIs, Fed meeting minutes in focus
(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus over the coming week will be on a raft of global purchasing managers' surveys that may yield useful insights into the strength of the global economy.
The closely-followed purchasing manager survey results from S&P Global for the UK, euro area and U.S. are all set for release on Thursday.
Also due out, the day before, are the minutes of the U.S. central bank's last policy meeting on 30-31 January.
On home shores meanwhile, Monday will see the release of Rightmove's monthly house price index, and Wednesday will bring with it public sector net borrowing data for January.
Finally, on Friday, consultancy GfK will publish its UK consumer confidence index for February.
Further afield, rate-setters in China will meet to decide on policy on Tuesday.
Financial markets in the U.S. will remain closed on Monday in observance of Presidents' Day.
