FTSE 100 movers: Vodafone rallies; Sage hit by downgrade

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was down 0.2% at 7,467.50 in afternoon trade on Friday. Vodafone was the standout gainer on the index following a report that Italian telecom operator Fastweb is exploring a potential acquisition of the company's Italian operations.

Flutter Entertainment was in the red as Barclays cut its price target on the shares to 153p from 160p.

Sage Group was also under the cosh after Canaccord Genuity cut its rating on the shares to 'sell' from 'hold'.

"We believe the 'hyperbolic' share price reaction to an essentially 'in-line' set of FY23 results and FY24 guidance earlier this week now presents a compelling 'take profit' opportunity," it said.

Ladbrokes owner Entain lost ground after agreeing a deal with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to pay £585m to settle a bribery investigation into its former Turkish business.
