Wednesday preview: Fedspeak, UK house prices in focus

(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight in the middle of the week will be on speeches from three top Federal Reserve officials. Fed board member Adrianna Kugler will be first to take to the podium starting from 1600 GMT.

She will be followed by Thomas Barkin, the head of the Richmond Fed, at 1730 GMT, and Michelle Bowman, her colleague on the central bank's board, at 1900 GMT.

Earlier, at 1200 GMT, the Mortgage Bankers' Association is scheduled to publish its weekly mortgage applications figures.

At 1330 GMT the U.S. Department of Commerce will publish the latest foreign trade numbers covering the month of December.

On home shores, mortgage lender Halifax will release UK house price data for January at 0700 GMT.

Across the Channel, German and Spanish industrial production data for December are due out at 0700 GMT and 0800 GMT, respectively.
