Wednesday preview: Fed's Powell, US services PMI in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus in the middle of the week will be on Fedspeak, not least a speech by U.S. central bank governor Jerome Powell.

Powell is due to deliver remarks on the economic outlook at the Stanford Business, Government, and Society Forum in California, starting from 1610 GMT.

At least four other top Fed officials will take to the podium over the course of the day.

Ahead of Powell's speech, at 1400 GMT the Institute for Supply Management will publish its U.S. services sector Purchasing Managers' Index for the month of March.

Consultancy ADP meanwhile will release its private sector employment report for March at 1215 GMT, which sometimes triggers volatility in financial markets at the intraday level.

Across the Channel, Eurostat will release a preliminary estimate for euro area consumer prices in March at 0900 GMT.

No major economic reports are scheduled in the U.K..
