Director dealings: Wetherspoon chair, easyJet director make purchases
(Sharecast News) - On the list of director purchases on Tuesday was pub chain JD Wetherspoon, after its outspoken chairman picked up almost a million shares. The company said Tim Martin bought 968,544 shares on 1 September, in a single transaction on the London Stock Exchange.
He picked them up at a price of 700.4075p each, valuing the transaction at £6,783,754.82.
Following the transaction, Wetherspoon said Tim Martin and his connected persons had an interest of 31,743,253 of its shares, representing around 24.65% of its issued share capital.
Elsewhere, easyJet disclosed that one of its independent directors had bought more than 17,000 shares.
It said senior independent director Sue Clark purchased 17,281 shares on 4 September, in a single transaction on the London Stock Exchange.
Clark paid 435p for each share, valuing the transaction at a total of £75,172.35.
At 1355 BST, shares in JD Wetherspoon were down 1.85% at 688.5p, while those in easyJet were up 0.19% at 432.91p.
