Director dealings: Imperial Brands non-exec invests $0.5m, Landsec CEO covers tax bill
(Sharecast News) - Imperial Brands was on the list of director buys on Tuesday, after a non-executive director spent more than half a million dollars on shares. The cigarette giant said Therese Marie Esperdy picked up 22,000 of its American depositary receipts (ADRs) on 26 June, in a single over-the-counter transaction.
Each of Imperial's ADRs represents one of its ordinary shares, allowing investors to trade in its equity in US dollars.
The firm said Esperdy paid $22.864506 for each ADR, valuing the transaction at $503,019.13.
On the selling side of the ledger was Land Securities, after its chief executive officer exercised some options and needed to cover their tax bill.
The company said Mark Allan added 60,238 shares to his holding on 26 June, at nil cost, under its 2015 Deferred Share Bonus Plan.
Allan then sold 26,369 shares on the same day, in a single transaction in London, to cover the tax liability that arose as a result of the option exercise.
He sold each share for 560.08p, giving the transaction a total value of £159,889.10.
At 1352 BST, shares in Imperial Brands were down 0.76% at 1,751.5p, while those in Land Securities Group were 0.28% firmer at 565p.
