FTSE 250 movers: Travis Perkins on the up; Domino's off the menu

(Sharecast News) - FTSE 250 (MCX) 21,980.26 0.55%

Travis Perkins rose despite posting a decline in first-half adjusted operating profit as revenue dipped, dented by a weaker performance in the Merchanting segment.

Keller and Rotork also advanced after results.

Rotork said on Tuesday that solid H1 order intake had been offset by softer margins and a dip in reported profits.

Reported revenues were up 1.6% at £367.3m and order intake was 4.5% higher at £391.1m, but operating profits slipped 3.1% to £64.7m and operating margins contracted 90 basis points to 17.6% amid FX headwinds and transformation costs. Pre-tax profits were down 6.6% at £65.1m.

Keller Group posted a solid first-half performance ahead of expectations on Tuesday, and announced plans to return an additional £25m to shareholders through a new tranche of share buybacks, after completing an initial £25m repurchase earlier this year.

Revenue for the six months ended 30 June was £1.46bn, down 2% year-on-year but up 1% on a constant currency basis.

Underlying operating profit declined 9% to £102.6m, with margin narrowing by 60 basis points to 7%.

On the downside, Domino's Pizza tumbled as it cut its guidance for full-year core profit, pointing to a tougher operating environment and weaker consumer confidence.
