Director dealings: Oxford Instruments chairman remains strong buyer, so too Berenberg

Oxford Instruments's chairman Neil Carson bought shares of the company on the day of its interim results presentation.

Carson purchased 16,000 shares at roughly 202p each for a total transaction amount of £323,314.

The designer of specialised analysis equipment posted a 7.5% jump in adjusted revenues at constant currencies to reach £209.7m, for profit before tax of £37.5m.

On the next day, analysts at Berenberg told clients that the perceived risks to the equity story had largely been addressed by the strength of its results, adding that they remained "strong buyers".

"From here, while the FX impact on earnings always means that there exists some near-term risk to forecasts, we still consider the outlook to be positive, with the order book up 10% yoy (cc), a book-to-bill of 1.07x in the period, and significant levels of investment into capacity being made into faster-growing segments of the group."
