Wednesday preview: US New home sales, Nvidia in focus
(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus will continue to be trained on the US in the middle of the week. At 1500 BST, the US Department of Commerce is scheduled to release new home sales figures for the month of January.
They will be followed at 1700 BST by a speech from Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta chief Raphael Bostic.
One hour later, the US Treasury will hold an auction of seven-year debt.
Earlier, at 0700 BST consultancy GfK will release the results of a consumer confidence survey covering the month of March.
Overnight, the British Retail Consortium will publish its Shop Price Index for February.
On the corporate side of things, semiconductor manufacturer Nvidia is due to post its latest quarterly results after the close of markets in New York.
The FactSet consensus is calling for a 72% surge in quarterly revenues versus a year ago to reach $38.08bn.
Shares in the company had been range-bound over the preceding seven months or so, amid concern around their valuation and, more recently, the ongoing trade tensions between China and the US.
Worth noting, perhaps, Chinese tech stocks and European equities more generally had picked up of late.
