Wednesday preview: US ADP jobs report, Challenger layoff numbers in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus in the middle of the week will continue to be on the US, where a couple of reports linked to the health of the country's jobs market are due out. Those are the ADP private sector hiring figures which are due out at 1215 BST and consultancy Challenger's monthly tally of job cut announcements at 1130 BST.

Worth noting, they will be followed the next day by the release of the all-important official non-farm payrolls numbers for the month of June.

ECB vice-president Luis de Guindos will deliver a speech at 0800 BST, followed by ECB chief Christine Lagarde at 1415 BST.

No major economic reports are due out in the UK.
