Wednesday preview: Geopolitics, Fed's Powell, BoE's Pill in focus

(Sharecast News) - Investors will have few economic or company signposts to guide them in the middle of the week. Nevertheless, fresh headlines around the war between Israel and Iran will likely keep them busy.

In particular, markets are focused on just how much damage was achieved by the strikes against Iran's nuclear installations and the prospects for a permanent end to hostilities.

Against that backdrop, at 1400 BST the boss of the US Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, will deliver a second day of testimony.

Earlier, at 0900 BST, Bank of England chief economist Huw Pill is due to deliver a speech.
