Tuesday preview: Jerome Powell, Trade in focus

(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight on Tuesday will be on the head of the US central bank. At 1500 BST, Jerome Powell will deliver his semi-annual monetary policy report to the US House of Representatives-s Financial Services Committee.

Speeches from at least three other top Federal Reserve officials are scheduled for throughout the afternoon.

Investors will also be keeping an eye out for a possible announcement of reciprocal trade tariffs by Washington.

Overnight, the People's Bank of China will release money supply figures for the month of January.

Also due out is the British Retail Consortium's like-for-like retail sales data for that same month.
