(Sharecast News) - Investor focus on Thursday will be on inflation readings due out on either side of the Atlantic. In the States, at 1230 BST the US Department of Commerce will release personal income and spending figures covering the month of June.
Contained in that same report are readings for the core personal price deflator for the month of June, the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge.
Consensus is for core PCE rate to have accelerated from 2.3% to 2.5%.
Earlier, investors will be digesting readings for consumer prices in France, Germany, Italy throughout the morning.
Overnight, markets will be waiting on a reading for Caixin's Chinese manufacturing sector Purchasing Managers' Index for July.
Also during Asian trading hours, rate-setters in Japan will meet to decide on monetary policy.
Lastly, after the New York close US technology giants Amazon and Apple will release their latest quarterly results.
