Thursday preview: US non-farm payrolls, Trump 'Big, Beautiful Bill' in focus
(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight on Thursday will be squarely on the release by the US Department of Labor of its monthly non-farm payrolls report. Consensus is that hiring slowed from the 139,000 person clip observed in May to 110,000 in June.
The rate of unemployment meanwhile ticked higher by one tenth of a percentage point to 4.3%.
In the background, investors will also be keeping a close eye on whether the US President's Big Beautiful Bill manages to get through a vote in the House of Representatives or not.
Of considerable importance as well, a raft of purchasing managers' surveys covering services sector activity in the UK, euro area and US during the month of June are due out.
On home shores, S&P Global will publish its services PMI at 0830 BST, whilst in the US the Institute for Supply Management will do the same at 1400 BST.
