Thursday preview: US, China CPI; US-Russia talks in focus
(Sharecast News) - Thursday will bring with it this week's key data releases, readings for consumer prices in China and the US covering the month of March.
In both cases, the consensus is that price pressures ebbed modestly last month.
The annual rate of headline inflation in the States is forecast to have slowed from the 2.8% clip seen in February to 2.6% for March.
Also scheduled for throughout the afternoon is a string of Fed speakers.
Meantime, China is expected to have remained mired in deflation with the country's Consumer Price Index expected to have fallen by 0.2% month-on-month.
Year-on-year China's CPI is seen having ticked lower by a tenth of a percentage point to 2.3%.
Russian and US officials will be holding talks in Istanbul.
