Friday preview: US, euro area inflation data in focus
(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight at the end of the week will be on the inflation picture on either side of the Atlantic. In particular, investors are keen to see whether the Federal Reserve´s preferred price gauge slipped back again in January.
Consensus is that the annual rate of increase in the headline price deflator for personal consumption expenditures ticked lower by one tenth of a percentage point to 2.5%.
Core PCE prices meanwhile were seen slowing from 2.8% to 2.6%.
That US data is set for release at 1330 BST.
Earlier during the same session, investors will be treated to CPI data out of France, Germany and Italy covering the month of February.
On home shores, at 0700 BST Nationwide would release its House Price Index for that same month.
