Friday preview: UK GDP, International trade in focus

(Sharecast News) - The economic and corporate calendar for the end of the week is quite light. Nonetheless, at 0600 BST the Office for National Statistics is scheduled to release its estimate for UK gross domestic product growth during the month of May.

Consensus is that aggregate demand expanded at a month-on-month clip of 0.1% after registering a 0.3% decline during the previous month as industrial output stabilises and services activity continues to rise at a steady clip.

Later during the same session, the National Institute for Economic and Social Research will release an estimate for the three-month rate of growth in GDP until June.

As ever, headlines around foreign trade and geopolitics will continue to be closely watched by market participants.
