FTSE 250 movers: Hochschild Mining slumps on global slowdown fears
(Sharecast News) - The FTSE 250 was down 1.98% at 19,257.32 at 1458 BST. Hochschild Mining shares were 9% lower, as fears of a global economic slowdown shook investors and hit mining stocks.
Shares in RHI Magnesita rose as the company said first-quarter profits were materially higher, driven by robust demand for steel and industrial products and price increases.
The company on Thursday said earnings before interest, tax and amortisation was up 50% year on year, in line with expectations and at similar levels to that achieved in Q4 2021.
Grainger shares were also higher as the firm reported a 23% rise in adjusted earnings to £46.3m on the back of high occupancy across its private rented sector (PRS) portfolio.
The UK's largest listed landlord with a £3.1bn portfolio and £2.4bn pipeline, revealed half year results to investors showing group revenue of £126.6m in the six months to the end of March, up from £101.1m in the same period 2021.
