Director dealings: Caledonia Mining, Savannah Energy insiders make purchases
(Sharecast News) - Caledonia Mining and Savannah Energy were among the listed companies that disclosed director share purchases on Monday. In its disclosure, Caledonia Mining said Victor Gapare, an executive director and settlor of a discretionary trust controlling its largest shareholder Toziyana Resources, acquired 12,449 common shares in the company at an average price of $14.47 per share on 15 May.
The transaction, conducted via the NYSE American, increased Gapare's indirect interest in Caledonia to 12.56% of the issued share capital.
Meanwhile, Savannah Energy confirmed that chief executive officer Andrew Knott purchased 1,540,000 ordinary shares at about 6.5p per share, following a limit order placed in early April.
The purchase raised Knott's stake to 145.8 million shares, representing 9.05% of voting rights.
He also intended to acquire a further 25.6 million subscription shares by September, which would take his total holding to over 10.6%.
At the close on Monday, shares in Caledonia Mining Corporation were up 10.57% at 1,255p, while those in Savannah energy were down 2.29% at 6.4p.
