Director dealings: 3i insiders invest, Fuller's non-exec sells 5,000 shares
(Sharecast News) - London-listed companies 3i Group and Fuller, Smith & Turner reported director share dealings on Monday, with transactions disclosed against a backdrop of recent share-price volatility and trading updates at both firms. 3i Group said directors James Hatchley and Peter McKellar had purchased a combined 40,000 shares in the FTSE 100 private-equity group.
Hatchley bought 15,000 shares on 17 November at 3,397p each, while McKellar acquired 25,000 shares on 14 November at 3,446.01p.
Both transactions were carried out on the London Stock Exchange.
The purchases came days after 3i shares slumped more than 11% to a seven-month low following a cautious market outlook, even as the firm reported a stronger second quarter and a 13% total return for the six months to September.
The update highlighted continued momentum at its flagship investment Action and stronger returns from its infrastructure portfolio, but management warned that dealmaking conditions were likely to remain challenging into the second half.
Separately, Fuller, Smith & Turner reported that non-executive director Richard Fuller sold 5,000 A ordinary shares at 651p on 13 November.
The disclosure followed the pub and hotels operator's upbeat half-year results last week, when the company said Christmas bookings were running 16% ahead of last year and adjusted pre-tax profit had risen 28% to £22.5m.
Fuller's had been investing heavily in its estate to improve long-term returns but reiterated sector concerns about the potential impact of the upcoming Budget, echoing warnings from peers about higher taxes and wage costs.
