Vistry names company insider chief executive
(Sharecast News) - Vistry Group has appointed company insider Adam Daniels chief executive, the housebuider confirmed on Monday. The 35-year-old joined Countryside Partnerships - which Vistry acquired in 2022 - in 2016 as a quantity surveyor, but has gone on to hold various leadership roles across the business. He is currently executive chair of Vistry's Yorkshire, North Midlands and West division.
He will replace the long-serving Greg Fitzgerald, who will now step down as executive chair and chief executive with immediate effect. The company is also splitting the roles, with Daniels becoming chief executive and senior independent director and Rob Woodward stepping in as non-executive chair.
Vistry was created in its current form in 2020, after Bovis Homes acquired Galliford Try's housing divisions in a transformative £1.1bn deal. Fitzgerald, 61, was chief executive of Galliford Try between 2005 and 2015, before taking up the same role at Bovis in 2017.
Woodward said: "Adam is a proven leader, clear thinker and strong operator.
"The board is confident that Adam's collaborative, values-led approach will leverage Vistry's unique partnership capabilities, resources and highly-talented people to deliver on the group's clear potential."
Daniels said: "As outlined at the time of our 2025 results last month, the group is currently focused on improving cash generation, driving open market sales and reducing inventory levels. These objectives remain an absolute priority for [chief financial officer Tim Lawlor] and I during 2026."
Rowan Baker is succeeding Woodward as senior independent director.
