Thursday preview: US jobs, services sector data in the spotlight

(Sharecast News) - Investors' focus on Thursday is likely to be on the US, where a trio of reports are due out covering the country's jobs market. First out, at 1130 BST, will be consultancy Challenger's job openings report for the month of August.

It will be followed at 1215 BST by the monthly ADP private sector payrolls survey and at 1230 BST by the latest weekly official jobless claims numbers.

Against that backdrop, at 1400 BST the Institute for Supply Management will release its services sector Purchasing Managers' Index, also for August.

Nonetheless, the market reaction to the above data points may be muted as investors will also be waiting on the all-important monthly non-farm payrolls numbers due out the next day.

On home shores, at 0830 BST S&P Global will release its construction sector PMI, also for the month of August.
