Thursday preview: Pennon, Halfords results in focus

(Sharecast News) - With all the excitement - and dread - of the Budget out of the way and US markets closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Thursday looks set to be fairly quiet. On the corporate front, half-year results are due from water utility Pennon and motoring and cycling products retailer Halfords.

As far as Pennon is concerned, UBS said investors will look for signs the company is making progress delivering the circa £5bn total expenditure plan.

Investors should also watch for any signal that the incoming chief executive will make changes, and whether the 190 basis points outperformance target still applies, the bank said.

In Europe, first-half results are due from French drinks maker Remy Cointreau.
