Friday preview: UK retail sales, BoJ in focus

(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight at the end of the week will remain on the UK. Overnight, consultancy GfK will publish the results of its consumer confidence survey for September.

They will be followed at 0800 BST by readings for UK public sector borrowing and retail sales referencing the month of August.

At 0830 BST, the Bank of Japan will hold a press conference to discuss its latest monetary policy decision.

Also overnight, at 0130 BST Japan's statistics bureau will publish a reading on consumer prices on August.

In the euro area, at 0800 BST Destatis will release a report on producer prices in Germany.

No major economic releases are due out in the US.
