FTSE 250 movers: Wizz flies higher; NCC slides as sale ruled out
(Sharecast News) - FTSE 250 (MCX) 23,010.48 0.26%
Low cost airline Wizz Air flew higher as it suspended guidance for 2027, citing a lack of visibility due to the Iran war, but posted better-than-expected annual earnings driven by higher capacity and cost control. EasyJet was higher on the sentiment.
Cyber security and resilience specialist NCC Group ruled out a potential sale on Thursday, as it posted an uplift in half-year earnings.
The UK firm first launched a strategic review of the business last April, which led to the sale of all its non-core operations. In January, it agreed to sell escrow and verification business Escode to TDR Capital for net cash proceeds of £263m, leaving it a pure-play cyber security and resilience business.
C&C and B&M both fell as they traded without entitlement to a dividend.
Construction products distributor Grafton said on Thursday that it would set out its medium‑term strategy and financial ambitions at a capital markets event in London later today.
Chief executive Eric Born said Grafton remained confident in its strategy for both organic and inorganic growth, and continued to target attractive earnings expansion, strong cash generation and consistent shareholder returns while keeping its balance sheet robust.
