We take a long term view and are not driven by quarterly City reports
Unlike most investment companies, we are privately owned – and we have been since we were founded more than 45 years ago.
This means we can take a long-term view with all our plans. We don’t report to City analysts on a quarterly basis, we are not focused solely on short term results. It means we can afford to consider new ideas – ideas that change the way we think about investing.
The result has been some of the most significant innovations in the UK investment industry.
In particular, we were one of the first companies to carry out face-to-face investment research, we pioneered low-cost as well as multi-manager investment funds, and were one of the very first to launch a fund supermarket for UK investors. These may now seem commonplace, but we believe our long-term outlook gives us the confidence to spot opportunities earlier than most and more importantly to then create new products and services for our clients.
The value of investments can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you invested.
