Director dealings: REI insiders invest, Chesnara CFO exercises options

(Sharecast News) - Two of the director disclosures made to the London market on Tuesday saw Real Estate Investors chief executive Paul Bassi and finance director Marcus Daly buy shares in the company, while Chesnara finance chief Tom Howard exercised options and sold shares to cover tax obligations. Real Estate Investors said Bassi bought 595,965 ordinary shares on 14 May at 32.25p each, in a transaction worth about £192,199.

Following the purchase, he held 19.0 million shares, representing 10.87% of the company's issued share capital.

The Midlands-focused real estate investment trust also said finance director Marcus Daly bought 250,000 shares at the same price, for a total consideration of £80,625.

Daly's resulting holding was 4,887,543 shares, or 2.80% of the company.

Separately, Chesnara said group chief financial officer Tom Howard acquired shares through the exercise of options under its Buy-out Award Scheme.

Howard exercised options over 115,098 shares at nil cost following the vesting of conditional awards under the 2024 Buy-out Plan, as adjusted for the company's 2025 rights issue.

Howard then sold 55,544 shares at 319.113p each on the London Stock Exchange to cover tax and social security obligations, in a disposal worth about £177,241.

Following the exercise, Howard held a total interest in 215,793 Chesnara ordinary shares, including any shares held by persons closely associated with him.

At 1310 BST, shares in Real Estate Investors were up 1.92% at 31.8p, while those in Chesnara were ahead 1.1% at 323p.
