FTSE 250 movers: Oil & gas stocks surge; Miners slump

(Sharecast News) - FTSE 250: 21,574.24 -506.53 (-2.29%) Oil and gas stocks gained on a surging oil price after Israel attacked Iran's massive South Pars gas field and Iran retaliated attacked the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Qatar at the Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Iran had warned it would target energy assets across the Gulf following the South Pars bombing.

Ithaca Energy, Harbour Energy, Energean were all up on the news, with the latter also posting annual results.

Atalaya Mining Copper, Endeavour, Hochschild and Pan African all slid as gold and silver prices fell.
