Investment objective
The Fund seeks to maximise total return. The Fund invests at least 70% of its total assets in the equity securities of companies domiciled in, or exercising the predominant part of their activity in Asia, excluding Japan. The Fund places particular emphasis on sectors and companies that, in the opinion of the Investment Adviser, exhibit growth investment characteristics, such as above average growth rates in earnings or sales and high or improving returns on capital.

Fund manager biography
Matt Colvin, Director, is a portfolio manager and a research analyst on the Global Emerging Markets Equities Team within BlackRock’s Fundamental Equity Group. Mr. Colvin manages the China Impact strategy and co-manages the China A-Shares strategy. He is also the co-pod leader of the North Asia Financials, Real Estate and Tech research pod.
Prior to joining the Global Emerging Markets Equities Team in 2011, Mr. Colvin was BlackRock's secondee to its mainland China joint venture, Bank of China Investment Management. His primary responsibility within the joint venture was building the foreign institutional sub-advisory business. Mr. Colvin began his career with BlackRock in 2006 and worked in the Institutional Client Business group supporting ex-US clients, based in New York.
Mr. Colvin earned a BBA (Finance) from Emory University in 2006.
