Investment objective
The Fund’s primary objective is to provide shareholders with an opportunity for long-term growth of principal and income. A secondary objective is to seek to achieve a reasonable current income. The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of U.S. equity securities. Under normal circumstances, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its Net Asset Value in equity securities, including common stocks, depositary receipts evidencing ownership of common stocks, preferred stocks, securities convertible into common stocks and securities that carry the right to buy common stocks. The Fund may invest up to 10% of its Net Asset Value in U.S. Dollar-denominated securities of non U.S. companies traded in the U.S. (such as ADRs) that are not included in the S&P 500 Index.

Steven C. Voorhis serves as Senior Vice President and Director of Research at Dodge & Cox. He joined the firm in 1996. Mr. Voorhis received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Stanford University in 1992 and earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1996. Prior to entering graduate school, he worked at Goldman Sachs as a financial analyst. Mr. Voorhis is a CFA charterholder.

David C. Hoeft serves as Chair and Chief Investment Officer at Dodge & Cox. He joined the firm in 1993. Mr. Hoeft received his B.A. degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Chicago in 1989 and earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1993. Prior to entering graduate school, he worked for two years as a consultant to the energy industry. Over his tenure at Dodge & Cox, Mr. Hoeft has held a number of senior leadership roles, including Senior Vice President and Director, Associate Director of Research (until 2019), and membership on the firm’s U.S. Equity Investment Committee (USEIC), Global Equity Investment Committee (GEIC), and Balanced Investment Committee (BIC) since May 2022. He has served as Chief Investment Officer since 2022. Mr. Hoeft is a CFA charterholder.
