Investment objective
The primary investment objective of the Fund is to achieve capital growth. The Fund will utilise a diversified portfolio of transferable securities consisting primarily of equities whose core business is involved in the mining, refining, production and marketing of gold and/or precious metals. It may also invest in Exchange Traded Certificates, collective investment schemes (including Exchange Traded Funds), warrants, cash or near cash, deposits and money market instruments.

Fund manager biography
Mark graduated from Surrey University with a BA in 2005 and began his career in Investment Management with Forsyth Partners as well as doing work experience with brokerage houses RP Martin and WH Ireland. He joined Charteris in November 2008 as a Junior Fund Manager assisting with the management of both individual private client portfolios as well as the management of the in-house Charteris funds.
He helped oversee terrific fund performance such as the Charteris Gold & Precious Metals fund being the best performing fund in the UK (calendar year 2016) going up 133.95%.
Mark was chosen to feature on the front cover of Citywire WM manager (issue 386) to give in depth feature on how performance was achieved.

Fund manager biography
Ian has spent over 30 years trading equities commodities and G7 government bonds. Formerly a member of the London Stock Exchange before joining Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan). He then worked for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Guinness Mahon (now Investec) before becoming Chairman and Chief Executive of Charteris Treasury Portfolio Managers. He has been a regular contributor to the national written press and various television networks including Bloomberg, CNBC, BNN, Reuters and BBC Radio 4. He is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI.
