Investment objective
The Fund aims to increase in value through investment growth over periods of five years or more after all fees and costs are deducted. The Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in shares of companies which are incorporated or domiciled anywhere in the world, including in China and in emerging markets (countries whose economy and financial markets are still developing, such as those which are included within the MSCI Emerging Markets Index).

Fund manager biography
Zehrid is head of the Global Long-Term Unconstrained team and is co-manager of the Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust. He joined Martin Currie in May 2018 from BlackRock, where he held a number of senior roles. He was Head of European Equities Research and had responsibility for managing several pan-European equity funds with a specific focus on unconstrained, high-conviction, long-term portfolios. Prior to this, Zehrid managed equity portfolios at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), and was a specialist sector analyst at Commerzbank Securities, UBS Warburg and Credit Lyonnais. Zehrid began his investment career as a trainee fund manager at Scottish Investment Trust. He has a BA in Economics and Finance from the University of Paris-Sorbonne and an MA in International Finance from the University of Glasgow.

Yulia joined Martin Currie in March 2020 and is a portfolio manager on our Global Long-Term Unconstrained team. She has joined from BlackRock, where she was a Director within the Active Fundamental Global Equities team, working, amongst others, on some of their unconstrained mandates. Prior to this, she was a senior associate at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, covering Materials and Energy. Previously she spent three years at Credit Suisse, starting as an analyst before becoming an associate within their London Equity Research team. Yulia began her career as an analyst at Rothschilds, Moscow following completion of their graduate programme. Yulia has a specialist diploma (Hons.) in Economics with a specialisation in Finance/Investment Valuation from the Financial University, Moscow.
