Investment objective

The Fund aims to provide a combination of long-term capital growth and some income. It looks to outperform a composite index over rolling 3-year periods, after the deduction of charges. The Fund is actively managed, and invests at least 80% of its assets in other funds. The Fund usually invests in other Columbia Threadneedle funds, however, funds managed by companies outside the Columbia Threadneedle group may also be held, when this is considered appropriate. These funds may invest worldwide. The Fund focuses on investment in funds providing exposure to equities (company shares), but also has some exposure to bonds (including corporate and government bonds).

Lead fund manager biography

Matthew Rees joined the company in 2008 and is currently a portfolio manager within the Global Asset Allocation team with responsibility for our range of Managed Funds. Prior to this, Matthew worked in our Fixed Income team as portfolio manager for a range of Government Bond portfolios, with a particular focus on UK gilt funds. He was previously a quantitative analyst in the Fixed Income Risk team. Matthew gained a First Class Master of Mathematics degree from Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford in 2007 and also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
