Investment objective

The Fund aims to achieve capital growth over the long term (5 years, or more). It also looks to outperform the MSCI ACWI Index (“the Index”) over rolling 3-year periods, after the deduction of charges. The Fund is actively managed, and invests at least 75% of its assets in a concentrated portfolio of shares of companies worldwide. There is no restriction on size, but investment tends to focus on larger companies, such as those included in the Index.

"David Dudding is a senior portfolio manager in the Global Equities team. He is a lead portfolio manager on the Global Focus Strategy. He joined the company, as an equity research analyst in 1999 and later moved on to manage the European Smaller Companies strategy for 10 years until December 2012. He then moved onto the global equities team in 2013. Prior to working at the company, David worked for John Swire and Sons in Hong Kong and for Investors Chronicle as a financial journalist. David has been a member of the investment community since 1999. He received a B.A. in Modern History and a master’s degree in European Politics from Oxford University. David is also a member of the CFA Institute and the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP). In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation."

Alex joined is a portfolio manager in the Global Equities team. Alex joined the company in 2016 as a portfolio manager on the Japan Equities desk and moved to the Global Equities team in 2018. He is now co-portfolio manager on the Global Focus strategy and lead manager for a number of segregated Japan equity mandates. Whilst working on the Japan desk, Alex assisted the Global Equities team with idea generation and analysis of Japanese companies across all sectors. Before joining the company, Alex was a Senior Fund Manager at Canada Life Investments, where he managed the Japan equity strategy and supported the management of the US and global equity strategies. Alex has a BSc in economics from the London School of Economics. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
