Investment objective
The Fund seeks to provide income as well as grow investor's investment over the long term (at least 5 years). Up to 100% of the Fund’s assets can be invested directly in bonds issued by governments, companies and supranational entities. These investments can be investment grade and noninvestment grade. Investment grade means the asset is given a speculative rating by a rating agency (for example, at least BBB- by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services or Baa3 by Moody’s Investors Services, Inc.). Non-investment grade means the asset is given a speculative rating by a rating agency (for example, less than BBB- by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services or less than Baa3 by Moody’s Investors Services, Inc.). Where an investment is not rated, the Investment Manager may assign a rating. The Fund’s assets can also be invested directly in bonds which are backed by other investments.

Dan Fuss has 65 years of experience in the investment industry and has been with Loomis, Sayles & Company since 1976. He is vice chairman of the firm’s Board of Directors and a senior advisor to the full discretion team. In 2019, Dan was awarded the Outstanding Portfolio Manager Award at the US Morningstar Awards for Investing Excellence. In 2012, he received both the Institutional Investor Money Management Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lipper Excellence in Investing Award. In 2013, Dan received the CFA Society of Milwaukee Lifetime Achievement Award.

Matt has 30 years of experience as a portfolio manager and fixed-income analyst. He is co-portfolio manager for a number of Loomis Sayles’ institutional and retail funds and serves as a member of the firm’s board of directors. Matt joined Loomis Sayles in 1997 as a research analyst for the multisector fixed-income team. Prior to Loomis Sayles, he was a senior fixed-income analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and a senior credit analyst at BancBoston Financial Company. Matt earned a BA from Northeastern University and an MBA from Boston University.
