Investment objective
The Sub-Fund aims to achieve capital growth over the long term (5 years or more). The Sub-Fund is actively managed and invests at least 75% of the portfolio in equities (company shares) of issuers domiciled, incorporated or with significant business in Asian and Pacific markets (including Australia and New Zealand but excluding Japan), including ordinary shares, preference shares and other equity-related securities.

Lead fund manager biography
Alex Khosla is a portfolio manager for Newton’s emerging markets and Asia equities strategies. Alex joined Newton in 2022 to help manage global emerging markets and Asia portfolios, prior to this he worked at Aikya Investment Management, where he was a research analyst covering global emerging markets. Before that, he was at Stewart Investors and at AXA Framlington, where he supported them in managing the firm’s global emerging markets funds. He began his career at UBS Investment Bank. Alex has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and is a CFA charterholder. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family.

Fund manager biography
Aditya is a member of Newton’s emerging markets and Asia equities team. Aditya joined Newton in August 2021 to assist Paul Birchenough and Ian Smith as a desk analyst on the global emerging markets portfolio. Prior to joining Newton, Aditya was on the Emerging Leaders Programme at BNY Mellon, rotating through thematic research, responsible investment and emerging markets at Newton. Before joining BNY Mellon, Aditya studied Economics at UCL, graduating in 2019 with a 2:1 (Hons) and is currently studying for CFA* Level 3 examination.
