Our view
The Baring German Growth Trust is managed by Robert Smith and aims to achieve long-term capital growth by investing in Germany.
The Baring German Growth Trust employs a 'growth at a reasonable price' strategy, which was launched in the midst of German reunification in 1990.
Smith notes that a high proportion of German firms are family owned or controlled. As a result, German executives tend to make longer-term decision and take on less debt than their American and British peers.
