Investment objective
The aim of the Fund is to deliver a return on your investment (generated through an increase to the value of the assets held by the Fund and/or income received from those assets). In order to achieve its investment objective, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its total assets in equities (i.e. shares) of companies located in, or exercising a significant part of their economic activity across all economic sectors in the United Kingdom. The Fund has the flexibility to invest up to 20% of its total assets outside of these parameters, including in other countries globally.

Fund manager biography
Luke Chappell, Managing Director and portfolio manager, is head of the UK and Global Core Equity teams within BlackRock's Fundamental Equity division of BlackRock's Active Equity group. Mr. Chappell's service with the firm dates back to 1998, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers ("MLIM"), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, Mr. Chappell was an equity portfolio manager, responsible for managing UK Specialist equity portfolios. Prior to joining MLIM, he worked at another investment management house in a range of research and fund management roles, with particular emphasis on specialist accounts and mid-cap stocks.

Nick Little, Director and portfolio manager, is a member of the UK Equity team. He specialises in managing portfolios that invest in the UK stock market. He is also responsible for co-ordinating company research into the mining, industrial metals and life assurance sectors. Nick's service with the firm dates back to 2001, including his years with MLIM. Prior to joining MLIM as a graduate, Nick worked in Arthur Andersen's corporate tax department. He earned an MA degree in economics, with first class honours, from Cambridge University and has over 10 years experience with the firm.
