Investment objective
The Fund aims to achieve long-term (5 years plus) capital growth. The Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in shares or other equity related securities of smaller companies incorporated, domiciled, listed or carrying out the main part of their economic activity in Europe, excluding the UK. In pursuing the Fund’s investment objective, the fund manager may consider it appropriate to also invest in other transferable securities (including non European smaller companies), money market instruments, collective investment schemes (including funds managed by the Invesco group), deposits and cash.

Fund manager biography
James Matthews is a qualified trader on Eurex, OMLX and the International Securities Exchange (ISE) of New York. He joined Spear, Leeds & Kellogg in September 1995 and worked on the London International Financial Futures Exchange. In 1997 he went with Nordic Options Ltd which demerged from Spear, Leeds & Kellogg where he became the senior equity options trader.In June 2000 James Matthews left Nordic and founded 2K Trading Ltd where he has been the Managing Director of the firm and actively participated in and managed the trading activities

Michael Oliveros joined M&G in June 2011 as an analyst and since 2013 has worked as a manager and deputy manager of various equity strategies, including the Pan European Select Smaller Companies strategy and the Global Select strategy. Michael previously worked at Credit Suisse for six years, three of these as the market strategist and head of custom solutions in the HOLT group. Prior to Credit Suisse, he worked as an investment banking associate at Valuemetrics Advisors and as a management consultant at SCA Consulting. Michael graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998 with a BS in finance, minoring in technology and management. He is a CFA charterholder.
