Investment objective
The sub-Fund aims to outperform (after deduction of costs) the MSCI Pacific Index, as stated in Sterling, by at least 1.5% per annum over rolling five-year periods. The sub-Fund will invest at least 90% directly or indirectly in shares of companies in developed Asia, being those which are listed, incorporated, domiciled or conducting a significant portion of their business in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand or Singapore. The sub-Fund will be actively managed and will invest in companies of any size and in any sector. The indirect investment will be through collective investment schemes.

Mirbahram joined Baillie Gifford in 2018 and is an investment manager in the Japanese Equities Team. He graduated BSc in International Relations from the Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2016 and an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Oxford in 2018.

Iain joined Baillie Gifford in 2004 and became a partner in 2020. He manages various specialist Developed Asia portfolios and is a member of the International All Cap Portfolio Construction Group. Iain has been a member of the Managed Team since 2014. Prior to joining Baillie Gifford, Iain worked for Goldman Sachs as an analyst in its investment banking division. He graduated BA in Modern History from the University of Oxford in 2000.
