Investment objective
The sub-Fund aims to outperform (after deduction of costs) the MSCI AC Asia ex Japan Index, as stated in Sterling, by at least 2% per annum over rolling five-year periods. The sub-Fund will invest at least 90% directly or indirectly in shares of companies in Asia (excluding Japan) and Australasia, being those which are listed, incorporated, domiciled or conducting a significant portion of their business in Asia (excluding Japan) and Australasia. The sub-Fund will be actively managed and will invest in companies of any size and in any sector. The indirect investment will be through collective investment schemes.

Fund manager biography
Mr. Snell joined Baillie Gifford in 2006 and is a portfolio manager in the Emerging Markets Equity Team. Since March 2020, he has also been a manager on the China OEIC fund. He has managed the Baillie Gifford Pacific Fund since 2010 and has been Deputy Manager of Pacific Horizon Investment Trust since 2013. Mr. Snell graduated BSc (Hons) in Medical Biology from the University of Edinburgh in 2006.

Mr. Durrant is an Investment Manager in the Emerging Markets Team and before that he was an Investment Analyst in the Private Companies Team. He joined Baillie Gifford in 2017. He previously worked for RBS in their Group Strategy and Corporate Finance Team. He is also a Chartered Accountant and a CFA Charterholder. Ben graduated BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh in 2012.
