Investment objective

The Fund aims to provide income with the prospect of some capital growth over the long term. It looks to outperform the ICE BofA Pan-Europe Broad Market Index over rolling 3-year periods, after the deduction of charges. The Fund is actively managed, and invests at least two-thirds of its assets in bonds issued by governments, quasi-government entities and companies (corporate bonds) that are denominated in a European currency.

Lead fund manager biography

Aran Bajwa is a Portfolio Manager within the Global Rates team. Aran joined Columbia Threadneedle through the acquisition of BMO GAM (EMEA) in 2021, having previously been with BMO since 2016 through the talent development programme. Aran gained exposure across multiple asset classes including systematic equities and multi-asset products, choosing to utilize his macroeconomic experience within the Global Rates team. He manages a wide range of fixed income portfolios covering global aggregate, European and UK based mandates. In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, he has primary research accountability for the Euro area region and CEEMEA. Aran graduated with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and is a CFA charterholder.
