Meta hit with major outages, Facebook and Instagram down

(Sharecast News) - Social media giant Meta was hit by a major outage on Tuesday afternoon, with thousands of users left unable to access Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. According to the Daily Mail, Meta's internal systems were also down, which may have led to the outage.

Facebook's and Messenger's glitches led to users being booted from their accounts and unable to log back in, while Instagram's news feed currently shows an error message.

As of 1605 GMT, Meta shares were down 1.44% at $491.00 each.
