Metir inks water system deal with Portsmouth Aviation

(Sharecast News) - Metir announced Friday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Portsmouth Aviation to evaluate integrated water treatment and monitoring systems combining Portsmouth's PaquaVida purification platform with Metir's Modern Water Microtox biological monitoring technology. The AIM-traded firm said the companies will also assess potential collaboration in PFAS and pathogen detection, alongside joint customer engagement, demonstrations and pilot installations.

It said the initial focus will be on opportunities across the Gulf Cooperation Council, where investment in desalination, water reuse and critical infrastructure is increasing demand for combined treatment and real-time monitoring solutions.

Metir said the partnership could broaden the commercial application of its technology, while Portsmouth Aviation's mobile PaquaVida system can produce up to 300,000 litres of potable water per day in locations without established infrastructure.

At 0905 BST, shares in Metir were down 9.68% aat 0.7p.
