Week ahead: French elections, US CPI in focus
(Sharecast News) - All eyes over the coming week will be on the results of the second round of voting in the French elections, their likely implications and outlook for France's economy. Against that backdrop, investors will be waiting on key consumer price data due out in China and the US, on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
Those reports will be published alongside readings for producer prices on Wednesday in China followed by similar figures in the US on Friday.
Wednesday meanwhile will see rate-setters in New Zealand announce their latest policy decision.
Preliminary readings for consumer confidence and inflation expectations in the US will be released on Friday, courtesy of the University of Michigan.
