Week ahead: China foreign trade and inflation data, services PMIs in focus

(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight over the coming week will shift to Asia. On Wednesday, China's Customs Administration is scheduled to publish foreign trade numbers covering the month of July.

They will be followed, on Friday, by readings for consumer and producer prices in the Asian giant covering that same month.

Tuesday meanwhile will bring with it a monetary policy decision out of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Investors will also be keeping close tabs on a raft of services sector surveys that will be published in China, the euro area, UK and US on Monday.

Following a much weaker-than-expected reading on US July non-farm payrolls during the preceding week, financial markets may be more sensitive than up until now if faced with signs of weakness in the US consumer.

German factory orders and eurozone retail sales figures for June on Tuesday may also make for an interesting read.
