Tuesday preview: Capitol Hill, China manufacturing in focus
(Sharecast News) - Investors' attention on Tuesday will be firmly on Capitol Hill and last-minute talks between lawmakers to try and avoid a partial shutdown of the federal government. Worth noting, if it is not avoided that could see the release of the monthly non-farm payrolls figures scheduled for Friday delayed.
UK gross domestic product expanded at a 0.3% quarter-on-quarter clip over the three months ending in June.
Also of key importance will be the release, overnight, of manufacturing sector surveys in China.
Rate-setters Down Under are also due to meet to decide on policy.
In the euro area, readings on German inflation, retail sales and unemployment will be in focus.
Also set for release in the US is the Department of Labor's JOLTS job market survey.
